TONY
CAULFIELD
Tony Caulfield was born Tony Kremp on May 6th 1974. When the time
to choose an artist’s pseudonym had come he changed his name to Tony
Caulfield.
Tony’s most frequently quoted line „I’ve always thought in films and
video clips“ gives an impression of a personality for whom creative
work is like breathing. Despite evidently being predestined to become
an artist he started late to pursue a career in the fields of artistic
and creative work that have fascinated him ever since he was a small
kid.
After having survived a long time of sickness he first studied philosophy
for a while. During that time he wrote a book that is now planned
to be published, and after that started to paint, creating his own
unique style that’s almost impossible to be categorized. (Click to

Caulfield’s online exhibition at Kirsticon Art.)
His lifelong love to the movies and acting finally led him to become
an actor. Tony Caulfield’s acting career started with the starring
role in Das Erbe (The Heritage), a psychological thriller
that’s still filming and deals with schizophrenia, beliefs of demonic
possession and predestination; the film revolves around a young man
(Tony Caulfield) whose dissociation from reality puts him in the line
of competing beliefs about the origins of extreme states of mind.
The three other films Tony Caulfield starred in are currently in post
production: Realmaker Production’s breathtaking mystery/action thriller
Accept, the uniquely eerie Slayer, Magicland Pictures‘
chilling tribute to the tradition of dark and haunting horror thrillers
with a real story and a touch of who-dunnit suspense, and Lee/Leroc’s
Evil Knights, a thrilling horror movie with mythical and parody
elements that combines an amazingly dark story with breathtaking action
sequences, stunning special effects (in service of the story), and
loving hommages to horror film legends.

Tony Caulfield about the Art
Rimbaud Project 2004:
„When Michael Korotschenko asked me whether I would like to recite
a text for a project that was about using Arthur Rimbaud poems as
lyrics for songs I was enthused about it right away. I just knew that
was exactly the contrast to my previous work that I’d been waiting
for. He sent me a selection of poems and I realized they were the
perfect song lyrics. Rimbaud wrote these poems over a hundred years
ago but they seem totally timeless to me cause it’s all about emotions,
strong experiences, creating strong images in your head that you can
feel.
So I wound up picking three poems, it was totally tough to pick them,
I mean, they’re all unique. We [Michael Korotschenko and Tony] met
in the studio and recorded two of my texts, Ich Treibe In Die Blaue
Ewigkeit and Resignation An Einem Maientag. Mischa composed
the music for them and sent me a first version of the songs. They
were truly unique, you could tell this really works. Later we did
Reise In Den Winter and then Ophelia which was my own
pick that hadn’t been part of the original selection, but I found
it was amazing and was really crazy about doing it. (…)
I’m terribly happy about being a part of this and having the chance
to work with Michael, Martin,
Helle [Helmut
Halfmann] and all the others involved. It’s such a great team
and I’m having a great time.“
